what to expect

We will typically meet at the New Minas Big Stop prior to sunrise or late afternoon, depending on your flight time. We will then travel to a launch field, where we will begin the process of inflating the balloon. 

Prior to inflation, the pilot will give a safety briefing and quick overview of the inflation process. At this point, the magic really begins.

If you are willing and looking for a hands on experience, the crew will assign you a job. If you're looking for a more laid back experience and just wish to take it all in, sit back, snap some pics and enjoy!

We will fill the envelope with cold air via a fan. Once it is inflated enough, the pilot will apply heat via the burners. The balloon will then lift up and stand upright, at which point the pilot will instruct you to enter the basket. 

From there we lift off! There is no other feeling like that first time you feel free-flight, nothing quite compares. We typically fly between 500 - 3000 feet depending on wind speed and direction, you'll have an amazing view of the entire Valley and the Bay of Fundy. While flying, feel free to ask any questions, we enjoy sharing our love of ballooning with everyone! Your flight will typically range from 45 - 60 minutes, again, depending on wind speed and direction. 

Some will consider the landing the most exciting part of your whole experience! As we descend, the pilot will give you instructions to prepare to land. Some landings are soft, with the balloon standing upright, others are what we consider 'sporty' landings, ending with some bumps and the ballooning laying on it's side. Both are very normal and typical depending on wind speed at landing.

Our crew will meet us for a champagne toast, you'll leave with the memory of a lifetime.

Your safety is extremely important to us. Please let us know prior to booking if you have had any recent surgeries or injuries, or if you experience hip, back, neck, or knee problems, mobility limitations, other medical conditions, or if you are pregnant or may be pregnant.

Hot air ballooning is a gentle experience, but passengers must be able to stand for the duration of the flight and assume a secure landing position when instructed. If you are uncertain whether this adventure is appropriate for you, we strongly encourage you to consult your physician and reach out to us directly to discuss any questions or concerns.

For safety reasons, children must be at least 52 inches tall to fly and must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian if under 18 years of age.

cancellations

After we confirm your booking over the phone, we will require payment in full to finalize your booking for that week.

If we are unable to fly due to weather you will be refunded your payment back in full.

If you don't make it to the flight or cancel within 24 hours of flight meeting time, you will be refunded half your booking fee.
